Description
In India, the florets are used in ointments for treating wounds, herpes, ulcers, frostbite, skin damage, scars and blood purification. The dried flower heads have been used for their antipyretic, anti-tumor and cicatrizing effects. The methanol extract of C. officinalis exhibited antibacterial activity and both the methanol and the ethanol extracts showed antifungal activities.
