Frankincense oil is distilled from the resin of the cuts made in the tree bark. The resin of the plant, which contains boswellic acid and alibanoresin, is used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory. When used in conjunction with glucosamine, it can relieve joint pain associated with arthritis. It can be used in facial care as it is astringent and calming.
