Acesulfame-K

Description

Acesulfame-K (aka Acesulfame Potassium or Ace-K) is an artificial sweetener that is roughly 200 times sweeter than sugar. It has a small particle size and is a white crystalline powder.  It is used to sweeten food and drinks without adding calories.  Acesulfame-K is stable when heated and can be used in combination with acidic ingredients in foods and beverages.

Acesulfame-K is not metabolized by the body.  Once consumed, it is quickly absorbed by the body and then rapidly excreted unchanged.
